Bring Your Company Mission to Life with Video Animation
Animation is easy to watch, engaging and fun! It can be used for a variety of purposes including to break down complex messaging into an understandable form.
Businesses need their content to be memorable in a world of distraction and noise, so animation allows us to create an impactful visual – to invite our audience in so that they want to learn more about your business. What’s not to love about this form of visual storytelling?
What can I say in my video animation?
As with any project, you are never going to be able to say everything about your company in one short video. Instead, animation should be used to engage the audience and to encourage connection so they can find out more. Try making a bullet list of the most important messaging you want to communicate in order of priority and then we can bring that to life.
Clarity Voice needed an animation for a convention to explain their technology to support car dealerships. The subject matter risked being heavy and complex, yet the result would make a huge impact in the way the dealership worked, so bringing to life the content allowed the technology to be showcased and explained in a way that was understandable. It’s usage was twofold: to play on a loop at the technology convention – for which it was captioned – and for future marketing purposes. This is key to any investment – evergreen material that can be used for a multitude of purposes and platforms, meaning your money goes further. Hence, Bob, the car dealer was ‘born’ and his story is told in Clarity Voice’s animation.
Can the video animation include my company branding?
Absolutely and so it should! In the example of Clarity Voice’s animation, orange was used to style our characters. It features throughout as a key thread. Furthermore, the characters were originally created as avatars in a PowerPoint presentation – which was also featured at the convention alongside the animation. The animation expands upon the work already created by the client to take it to the next level.
Help, I’ve never written a script!
That’s absolutely fine! It is not expected that a business can write their own video script but creating bullet points and sharing marketing material is a crucial step in helping to share the vision, so the production company can work to create a story that fits your needs.
Can I have a voiceover?
Yes! The voiceover should match your brand. Consider who is the target audience and would a male, or female best represent your product or service? Consider the tone, do you want light and comical, thoughtful or serious? Professional voice over artists come in every style and you can view samples before making a decision on the voice that works best for you.
How much does video animation cost?
One important thing to note is that animation takes time and therefore comes with a price tag! Animations can reach upwards of tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars depending on the complexity of the project so proceed with this in mind.
What’s the first step with my video animation?
Look at the visual communications of your business competitors and anyone else that inspires you. Get a sense of what you like and what you don’t like and share this with your animation team. They will be working to get into your headspace quickly and efficiently to be able to deliver your work in a timely manner and all insight helps!
Be prepared for a series of pre production meetings, storyboard reviews and discussions to ensure the vision is on track. Expect to be shown a sample animation – to ensure the animation meets your expectations. Important to note that changes once an animation is complete are complicated, timely and costly, so your animator will need approval at the early stages to deliver a product that meets your needs and elevates your brand!
